The 2nd International Congress on Research in Educational Practices, from the João de Deus Higher School of Education, will take place on April 16th and 17th, 2026, at the João de Deus Kindergarten in Belas, and invites researchers, teachers, students, and education professionals to reflect on the major challenges of the 21st-century school.
Under the theme "Challenges and opportunities of contemporary education: new methodologies, technology, inclusion, and sustainability," this meeting is a space for sharing research, inspiring practices, and interdisciplinary dialogue.
Over two days, innovative research and practices that cross science, pedagogy, and citizenship will be presented, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and the creation of national and international collaborative networks.
The congress is organized into five thematic axes, each designed to respond to emerging trends and needs:
Innovation and Technology in Education – Artificial intelligence and the future of learning; gamification and augmented reality in education; blended learning and digital platforms; technologies at the service of inclusion.
Pedagogical Practices and Active Methodologies – Project-based and problem-based learning; integration of STEM fields; formative assessment and feedback as drivers of progress.
Inclusion, Diversity and Education for Citizenship – Intercultural education and social sustainability; neurodiversity and inclusive strategies for different learning profiles; education for human rights and democracy; inclusive strategies from early childhood.
